This Mercedes Electric Van Has a 65-Inch Screen and a Game Console

Mercedes-Benz is stepping into new territory with its upcoming electric van lineup built on the VAN Electric Architecture platform. While the idea of a luxury van might not sound groundbreaking at first, Mercedes is pushing the limits of comfort and style with its Vision V concept, a glimpse into the brand’s vision for high-end family travel and executive transportation.

The Vision V is nothing like the plain utility vans most people are used to seeing on the road. It features bold twenty-four inch wheels with illuminated accents, minimal front and rear overhangs, and sleek bodywork broken up by precise chrome details. Up front, a wide light bar connects intricate LED headlights beneath a glowing Mercedes emblem, while a redesigned grille blends chrome and lighted elements. At the rear, the taillights form a sweeping band of red glass wrapping around the back, creating a seamless finish.

Inside, the experience becomes even more extravagant. Giant sliding doors and illuminated running boards open up to a cabin that looks like a luxury lounge. White silk and Nappa leather line the seats and doors, accented by polished wood trim and brushed aluminum. Both sides of the cabin hold glass display cabinets, and a stunning Dolby Atmos surround sound system with forty-two speakers fills the space—four of which are mounted in glass pods that rise from the floor.

Comfort and entertainment are the stars of the show. The center console includes a retractable table and an infotainment touchpad, while the rear seats can fully recline into a bed. Passengers can enjoy a massive sixty-five inch 4K screen that rises from the floor. A glass partition separates the front from the rear, and it can switch between clear and opaque for added privacy.

The immersive experience continues with a full range of digital environments. These include Entertainment mode for movies and music, Relax mode with peaceful landscapes and sounds, Work mode for productivity tools and video calls, and even Gaming mode with a video game controller built into a cabinet. There is also a Shopping mode for virtual storefronts and Discovery mode that turns the van’s windows into augmented reality displays of the outside world. If that was not enough, there is even a Karaoke mode to keep the fun going.

To round it all off, the Vision V has a fragrance diffuser, ambient lighting that syncs with the music, and a full-width Superscreen up front for the driver and passenger. While this concept vehicle will likely be toned down for production, Mercedes is clearly aiming for a unique niche—luxury van buyers who want the kind of premium experience usually reserved for large sport utility vehicles.
