Retro Mustang Returns: New 2026 FX Pack Revealed

Retro Mustang Returns: New 2026 FX Pack Revealed

Ford is tapping into its rich Mustang legacy with a fresh twist for 2026. The new FX Package brings a nostalgic 1980s flair to the seventh-generation Mustang, blending vintage styling with modern details that make it stand out in today’s muscle car scene.

At the heart of the FX Package is a new Adriatic Blue Metallic exterior, paying homage to the teal tones seen on third-generation Mustangs. This striking shade is paired with bold white accents, most noticeably on the wheels. There are two wheel options: a refreshed 19-inch five-spoke rim and a retro-styled alternative that is exclusive to the Performance Package. Both are finished in Oxford White and feature special FX-specific white center caps, complete with a typeface inspired by 1987 to 1993 Mustang wordmarks.

Ford also wraps the 5.0-liter and GT badges in white trim and places a solid white pony emblem right in the center of the gloss-black front grille. The taillights are another head-turner—finished in white and contrasting beautifully with the deep blue body color.

Inside the cabin, the retro energy continues with perforated leather inserts on both standard and optional Recaro seats, mimicking the plaid look found in vintage Mustangs. The black-and-white pattern plays a visual trick that immediately grabs attention. Ford adds City Silver and Adriatic Blue stitching across the dashboard, seats, door panels, and steering wheel. The FX font even appears on the Mustang GT badge located on the dash.

Ford is also adding new seatbelt colors for 2026: Prime Blue, International Orange, and Black with a red stripe. These options, along with the FX Package, will be available across various Mustang trims, body styles, and transmission configurations. Notably, the white taillights will be offered in the Ford Performance Parts catalog, giving all seventh-generation Mustang owners a shot at that FX look.

Order books open later this month, so fans of retro Mustangs should mark their calendars.
