Fastest NHRA Funny Car Run Of All Time – video
Jack Beckman ran a world record quickest run in NHRA history ever at Sonoma Raceway in 3.921 seconds at 323.43 mph to take the lead on Friday during qualifying. On Saturday Beckman backed up that run with a 3.958 seconds to officially set the National E.T. record in Funny Car history.

Just think, had he gone another 320 feet, a real record might have been set, and it would really mean something. I really wish the NHRA would get rid of the 1000 ft. racing for Top Fuel and Funny Car, and go back to real quarter mile racing. I understand why they did it, for safety and it cuts down on mishaps with the cars, but I sure do miss it. The death of Scott Kalitta a decade ago was the catalyst for that decision.
