The 2024 Renault Captur introduces a fresh look with its latest design overhaul, featuring new LED daytime running lights and an updated, more prominent diamond-shaped logo. The front of the car has received a comprehensive redesign, a rare occurrence in a vehicle’s lifespan. Rear changes are more subtle, with the “C” shaped taillights sporting new graphics. Renault has updated its rear badge to align with its current brand identity and has eliminated the use of faux exhaust tips, signaling a move away from this trend. The Captur lineup welcomes the Esprit Alpine trim, offering extensive customization through 14 two-tone and solid color options. Starting with 17-inch steel wheels, options include upgrades to alloy or up to 19-inch wheels for the Esprit Alpine. Internally, the Captur remains familiar but boasts a larger 10.4-inch infotainment touchscreen and a digital dashboard display up to 10.25 inches. In an eco-friendly shift, all leather and chrome finishes have been replaced with recycled materials. The base model features a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine with 90 horsepower, while a more robust 1.3-liter turbo engine offers up to 160 horsepower. A hybrid model pairs a 1.6-liter engine with electric motors for a 145 horsepower output, emphasizing electric starting and urban efficiency. Renault has phased out diesel options, focusing on a cleaner LPG version that boasts a range of 684 miles, highlighting efficiency and sustainability.

The 2024 model of the Renault Captur introduces a fresh design approach, showcasing new LED lights for daytime use and a redesigned logo that stands out. The front part of the car has seen a significant makeover, a change that doesn’t come around too often in a car’s lifespan.

At the back, the changes are subtler. The taillights still feature their recognizable “C” shape but with a fresh design twist. The Renault emblem on the back has been updated to match the company’s new look, and it seems they’ve finally moved away from adding fake exhaust tips—a trend many are happy to see fade away.

A notable addition to the Captur’s range is the Esprit Alpine model, taking the place of the previous RS Line. This new model offers buyers a choice among 14 two-tone paint options and a similar number of solid colors. The base model of the 2024 Captur comes with 17-inch steel wheels, but there’s the option to upgrade to alloy wheels of the same size or even opt for larger, 19-inch wheels available for the Esprit Alpine version.

The inside of the Captur will look familiar to those who know the car, as the updates are part of a facelift rather than a complete overhaul. The infotainment screen is now larger at 10.4 inches, and the biggest option for the digital display behind the steering wheel measures 10.25 inches. Renault has decided to remove all leather and chrome from the compact crossover’s interior, opting instead for materials made from renewable resources, like hemp.

For those choosing the base model, Renault provides a small but capable three-cylinder, 1.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 90 horsepower, connected to a six-speed manual gearbox. A slightly larger four-cylinder, 1.3-liter turbocharged engine is available too, offering 140 horsepower with the same manual transmission. An even stronger version of this engine can produce 160 horsepower and comes with a seven-speed automatic transmission.

An alternative is the hybrid model, which combines a 1.6-liter gasoline engine (94 horsepower) with a 36-kilowatt electric motor, an 18-kW high-voltage starter generator, and a 1.2-kWh battery for a total power output of 145 horsepower. This version always starts moving in electric mode, and Renault suggests that up to 80% of urban driving can be done without using the gasoline engine at all.

In line with trends in Europe, the Captur will not have a diesel engine option as manufacturers move away from diesel in smaller vehicles. However, an LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) model is available, featuring a three-cylinder 1.0-liter turbo engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. When fully fueled with both gasoline and LPG, this version can travel up to 684 miles.
