Volvo Trucks has once again set a new standard in the heavy-duty truck segment with the introduction of the Volvo FH Aero. This latest addition to the iconic FH truck range is a marvel of aerodynamic design and innovative features, establishing a new benchmark for energy efficiency. The Volvo FH Aero is available in four variants, including a biofuel option and the award-winning electric version, underscoring Volvo’s commitment to sustainable transportation solutions. The Volvo FH Aero boasts an advanced aerodynamic design, which, combined with state-of-the-art technologies like the Volvo Camera Monitor System, enables it to cut energy consumption and emissions by up to 5 percent*. “The new Volvo FH Aero is our most efficient truck ever as we continue to reduce CO2 from our entire product range,” says Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks. He emphasizes the truck’s excellence in safety, design, and quality, making it ideal for demanding long-haul tasks. In 2024, the Volvo FH Electric was selected as International Truck of the Year and will be offered in the new Aero version. This addition enhances the range of electric trucks available from Volvo. Furthermore, the Volvo FH16 sets a new industry benchmark as the most powerful truck with an efficient 780hp engine. Customers have the flexibility to choose from electric, gas, or diesel powertrains, all benefiting from lower energy consumption, extended range, and unmatched safety and driving experience. The introduction of the new Aero truck models will be phased from 2024 to 2025. The lineup includes the FH Aero, FH Aero Electric, FH Aero gas-powered, and FH16 Aero, catering to a wide range of market needs and preferences. The Volvo FH Aero’s cab has been extended by 24 centimeters compared to the standard Volvo FH, significantly improving aerodynamics. This design not only reduces fuel consumption but also enhances driving stability in windy conditions. The aerodynamic benefits are particularly advantageous for the FH Aero Electric model, facilitating increased energy regeneration and efficiency. The FH Aero features a prominent Volvo Iron Mark and the Volvo Spread Word Mark, showcasing its modern and bold design. These elements symbolize Volvo Trucks’ commitment to innovation and advancement in the trucking industry. Replacing traditional exterior mirrors, the new Camera Monitor System greatly improves both aerodynamics and safety. This system enhances the driver’s visibility under various conditions, including rain, darkness, direct sunlight, and tunnel driving.
