Paducah, KY – A lightning strike in Paducah, Kentucky was caught on video from two separate McCracken County sheriff’s deputy cruisers on Thursday afternoon, May 26.According to Sheriff Jon Hayden, lightning struck a home at around 3:57 p.m. at 507 North 6th Street.

The first video of the strike was captured on Sgt. Jared Rivera’s dash cam as he was driving on Wayne Sullivan Drive.

The second video was taken from Sgt. David Shepherd’s dash cam just as he happened to be driving by the home as it was struck by lightning.

Sheriff Hayden said the concussion from the lightning strike knocked the video camera head from its windshield mount in the cruiser.Sgt. Shepherd was not injured. Neither were the homeowners; however, deputies say their home was damaged by the lightning and a subsequent fire.
