Jon Olsson new Lamborghini Huracan project

 

 

Here is what he posted in his blog:

“I have been waiting for this day for a really long time! Before I could really get started on the new project we needed a complete scan of the car so that we could start building the new design in 3D. Its took me forever to figure out what car to get, and even longer to get my hands on the car and get it ready for scanning. So it feel fantastic to have phase one of the build in the books!

Andreas from MLT was kind enough to be flexible and fly down here and get the job done with only a few days notice and we had a nice 14 hour scanning day . When you want to get every detail to make sure that we have a perfect fit and the right attachment point it does take a while to do this. But once the car was coming together in the computer I was blown away by this system. It was almost unreal to see Andreas work and how smooth it all ran. I can think of a million different way to use this system so I am sure me and Andreas will become very good fiends in the future as I am sure this was not the last time we scanned something!

So now its time to start building the madness in 3D and figure out the design, this is the first car that I will make in 3D and not hand shaped so I am pretty sure that this will give me the means to take my car building to the next level! Will make sure to post a few pics of the scan once I get it so you can see how cool it is! But right now its time to sleep and rest up! X ray time tomorrow so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I am OK!”
