Hyundai NPX1 Concept is an Ioniq 5 N with N Performance Parts

This week at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, Japan witnessed an exciting update in the world of electric SUVs. Hyundai and Lexus, two renowned automotive brands, presented their latest models with newly designed, more aggressive body kits. Hyundai is excited to unveil its N Performance Parts, a range of enhancements now being introduced to its electric vehicles. The highlight is the Ioniq 5 N, labeled the NPX1, which is on display at the Tokyo event. While Hyundai has previously offered these extra features for its N gasoline models, this is the first time its electric variant is receiving such an upgrade. The NPX1, although still a concept, is a clear indication of Hyundai’s future plans. By the end of this year, these parts will be available for the Ioniq 5 N. The TAS showcar stands out with a detailed body kit, including a carbon front splitter and a notably large rear wing. Additions like substantial side skirts, an expanded diffuser, and wheels made from an alloy and carbon mix (to cut down on weight) make it even more striking. To complete the external makeover, the car is equipped with lower springs for the suspension and superior brake pads. Hyundai has also hinted at changes inside the vehicle, mentioning sporty bucket seats and extensive use of Alcantara, although they haven’t revealed any images yet. Looking ahead, Hyundai, the South Korean automotive giant, plans to extend this range of N Performance Parts to all its N series cars.
