Ferrari F12tdf – Powertrain – Video

Ferrari F12tdf – Powertrain – Video

Following yesterday’s reveal, the Ferrari F12tdf is back in the first promo video which focuses on the upgraded V12 naturally aspirated engine.

It’s up on power by 40 PS (29 kW) and 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) compared to the F12 Berlinetta, so now the 6262cc motor churns an impressive 780 PS (574 kW) and 705 Nm (521 lb-ft) thanks to numerous hardware modifications, including race-inspired mechanical tappets as well as variable-geometry intake trumpets derived from F1 cars. It also comes with newly developed throttle valves and a different inlet manifold while the electronic limiter kicks in at an amazing 8,900 rpm, with 80% of the torque available from just 2,500 rpm.

The output hike corroborated with a massive 110 kg (220 lbs) weight loss have enabled the F12tdf (Tour de France) hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in as little as 2.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed in excess of 211 mph (340 km/h). This was also possible thanks to a revised F1 DCT that now has 30% quicker upshifts and 40% quicker downshifts while the gear ratios have been shortened by 6%.

Only 799 cars will ever be made, but there’s still no word about the starting price.
