690WHP Lamborghini Jalpa with Twin turbo LS Engine Swap (1)

With less than 450 made, the Lamborghini Jalpa is somewhat of a rare car these days. The factory 3.5L V8 engine only puffs out a moderate 250hp so with that in mind Nick fitted a GM LS1 a few years back. The car had run 9.7 at 137mph over the quarter with a supercharger but it was quite hard on driveline parts, the gearbox being a custom built Toyota Camry transaxle. The blower is now gone in favour of a couple of Ford XR6 Garrett turbochargers that at present make 690hp to the rear tyres on moderate boost. With the softer boost delivery of the turbochargers and a higher trap speed, Nick was being very easy off the line being the first time out with this combination, but it’s obvious with more track time this Lambo is going to go real fast.
