2018 Volvo VNL & VNR Truck Features & Options – Video

The Volvo VNL is built for the needs of today’s—and tomorrow’s—long-haul trucking operations. The VNL delivers long-haul efficiency, along with premium comfort and amenities.

A completely redesigned front-end features improved airflow, along with state-of-the-art LED lighting for improved visibility and reduced maintenance.

The VNL has been redesigned with significant improvements to ergonomics, aerodynamics, fuel efficiency, and performance. The selection of VNL sleeper and day cab models covers a wide range of highway applications, all offering unsurpassed driveability, safety, and comfort. All while delivering big savings to your bottom line. So if you’re looking for a premium truck that puts a premium on profitability, look no further.

The new Volvo VNR features a dramatic new exterior that’s impossible to ignore. Distinctive contours enhance airflow, while state-of-the-art LED lighting provides improved visibility and reduced maintenance.

A daycab model delivers the maximum in payload and maneuverability, while sleeper models add efficiently configured accommodations for regional routes that stretch beyond day’s end. A flat-roof sleeper is perfect for flatbed and tanker applications, and the mid-roof sleeper offers extra room for multi-day runs.

A lift axle solution for 6×2 tractor configurations is perfect for regional applications. Volvo’s Adaptive Loading is designed to help trucks run at peak fuel efficiency and performance every mile of every haul. It senses weight differentiation and automatically lifts the axle to reduce friction and save fuel.

Defined by innovations in every area – new aerodynamic design, reimagined working environment, improved engine and transmission options, gearing and loading efficiencies, passive and active safety systems and integrated connectivity – the new Volvo VNR is ideal for urban areas, pickup and delivery, liquid tankers, dry bulk, flatbed and other regional haul applications.

With the new Volvo VNR model, customers will see an overall fuel efficiency gain of up to 3.5 percent compared with the previous regional haul model.

“I’m truly excited for our customers to drive the new VNR, and to hear how it makes every aspect of the job better and their businesses more profitable,” said Nyberg.

The Volvo VNR will be produced at Volvo’s New River Valley assembly plant in Dublin, Virginia, while the Volvo engines and transmissions powering the Volvo VNR will be produced at Volvo’s powertrain manufacturing facility in Hagerstown, Maryland.
