1963 Volkswagen Beetle used in the movie Herbie sells for $86,250

The famous Herbie has managed to fetch no less than $86,250 at the Dream Factory auction held by Bonhams and Turner Classic Movies in New York.

 

It’s the original 1963 Volkswagen Beetle that starred in the Herbie Rides Again and Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo films which made it one of the most popular movie cars ever. As a matter of fact, it’s the only car in the world that had the privilege of leaving its tire print in the cement at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
