Nick Cannon’s 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle

Nick Cannon’s 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle

It hasn’t been quite the best year for the rapper-comedian, especially since he filed for divorce in December 2014 after six years of marriage with Mariah Carey. The father-of-two did find the time to look back at his previous occupation, though, as he managed to get back in the studio and work on a new second album entitled White People Party Music. Perhaps that is the reason he decided to refresh his 1967 Chevelle.

After all isn’t that what these famous people do all the time? Think of Floyd Mayweather, who used to buy a new luxury car before every big match. Artists quite often celebrate a new album with a new car, especially those who brag with their lavish lifestyle in video clips. The other day we were telling you about The Game’s new Lamborghini Aventador he bought days after his long-awaited seventh album was released.

Nick Cannon, however, is still working on his new project. The album’s second single “Looking for a Dream” was released on February 11, last year, while its visual installment came out a couple of days later. Whatever the reason may be, we have to say that the improvements he made on his Chevelle are quite impressive.

According to DUB Magazine, Rialto, California-based Speedmaster custom built Nick’s 1967 Chevelle with a 496 cubic inch Big Block Chevy engine with an 871 supercharger, and fully CNC machined cylinder heads. Apparently, the engine was built by the shop’s in-house engine assembly department and dyno-tested for optimum performance.

Aside from the vehicle’s heart, the custom job also includes a Speedmaster fuel system that incorporates a billet carburettor and a high volume billet fuel pump.

Between the Honda Civic he was promoting about two years ago, and the classic Chevy he is driving nowadays, we can’t but observe a vast improvement. Maybe he’s life needs a bit of fixing, but at least the singer’s car style has improved significantly.
