The interior combines the high-quality appointments of the S-Class with AMG-specific features. The seats with a special AMG upholstery layout and distinctive stitching underline the refined appearance. Exclusive colours and various nappa leather upholsteries with an embossed AMG emblem in the front head restraints emphasise either the sporty or the luxurious side of the Mercedes S63 E PERFORMANCE. The leadership aspirations in the segment are also made clear by the First-Class rear compartment and multicontour seats for four occupants. Added to this are AMG-specific trim elements and the standard AMG Performance steering wheel with AMG steering wheel buttons.

S 63 E Performance’s heart is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and a rear-axle-mounted electric motor. The total output is a healthy 791 horsepower (590 kilowatts) and 1,055 pound-feet (1,430 Newton-meters). This gets the sedan to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in an estimated 3.2 seconds. In the United States, the AMG Driver’s Package is a standard feature to provide a top speed of 180 mph (290 kph). In Europe, this upgrade is an option, and the car runs out of steam at 155 mph (250 kph) without it.
