Toyota Revives the FX with a Hot New Corolla Hatchback for 2025
Toyota knows the GR Corolla is grabbing headlines, but it has not forgotten about its fun and efficient sibling. For 2025, the Corolla Hatchback returns with a new FX Edition that brings back retro vibes while keeping the driving experience simple and solid. This is not a full-blown performance car, but it certainly knows how to turn heads.
The FX Edition draws influence from the late 1980s Corolla FX16. You can see that inspiration in the bold paint options like Inferno orange, Ice Cap white, and Blue Crush, all matched with a black rear spoiler and clean-looking 18-inch gloss white wheels. Heritage-style badging brings a cool nod to the past without feeling stuck in it.
Step inside and you will find black Sport Touring seats with suede inserts and orange stitching that continues across the dashboard, doors, steering wheel, and shifter boot. It still includes the 8.0-inch touchscreen and 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, offering tech that is easy to use.
Under the hood, nothing changes. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, paired with front-wheel drive. Fuel efficiency holds strong at 33 miles per gallon combined.
Pricing is not official yet, but expect it to sit slightly above the Corolla hatch SE, which starts at $24,875. Deliveries begin in the fall.
