This Kia EV5 Is Not Like the Others – Europe Gets a Special Version

Kia is stepping up its game for European drivers with the new EV5, a fully electric sport utility vehicle that balances function and flair. Built on Kia’s Electric-Global Modular Platform with a 400 volt architecture, the EV5 is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor that delivers 214 horsepower, powered by an 81.4 kilowatt-hour nickel manganese cobalt battery. This powertrain offers a driving range of up to 329 miles on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure cycle, making it a practical option for both city driving and long road trips.

Kia made some thoughtful changes for the European market. Instead of the front bench seat seen in other regions, this version comes with a functional center console that features wireless smartphone charging, a fingerprint authentication system, and 16.5 liters of storage space. The boot offers 566 liters of cargo room, plus a 44 liter front trunk. Fold down the back seats and you get about 2 meters of flat loading length—ideal for weekend gear or large groceries.

Inside, the dashboard features dual 12.3 inch screens and a separate 5.3 inch climate display. Kia also uses recycled materials and non-toxic finishes to align with eco-conscious trends. Technology-wise, it comes with over-the-air updates, Highway Driving Assist, Digital Key 2.0, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and a pet mode that keeps the cabin comfortable while parked.

Production will take place in South Korea, and deliveries for Europe are expected by late 2025. Pricing is estimated between 40,000 and 45,000 pounds. Kia has designed the EV5 with real-world European needs in mind—whether it is the daily commute, family outings, or weekend adventures.
