Sabalenka’s Porsche Museum Moment Before Big Match

Sabalenka’s Porsche Museum Moment Before Big Match

Aryna Sabalenka finally got the chance to cross something off her bucket list: visiting the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. Despite being a familiar face at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix for years, her packed schedule had always kept her from making the visit. But on Thursday, between tournament commitments, she made the short trip and turned the experience into something memorable.

Her goal for the day was simple but personal—find a Porsche model from her birth year, 1998. That search led her to the Porsche 911 Carrera type 996, which was hand-painted in Australia by indigenous artist Graham J. Rennie, also known as Biggibilla. Adorned with native Australian animals, the art car instantly clicked with Aryna, who has a special connection to Australia thanks to her Grand Slam wins at the Australian Open. She described the car as if it were made just for her.

As she toured the museum, Aryna was visibly happy and relaxed. Even though she had not yet played her first match due to schedule changes and a day off for Good Friday, she remained focused. The upcoming quarterfinal match against Elise Mertens would be her tournament debut, and her eyes were set on the prize—a brand new Porsche Macan Turbo.

During her museum visit, she admired not only the unique art car but also Sally Carrera and the iconic Porsche 356 “No. 1” Roadster. That car especially sparked her imagination. “I would love to drive it along the coast into the sunrise,” she said, visibly enchanted.
