Real-Life Speeder Bike? Meet the Jet-Powered Volonaut Airbike
The idea of flying over traffic instead of sitting in it is no longer just a futuristic dream. A startup in Poland, best known for creating the Jetson One, is now working on something even more thrilling—the Volonaut Airbike. Designed by Tomasz Patan, this jet-powered hoverbike combines extreme speed, lightweight construction, and a sense of total freedom in the air.
While traditional motorcycles split lanes to beat traffic, this flying machine soars right over it. It is not only fast—it reaches speeds up to 124 miles per hour—but it is also incredibly light. The company says the Airbike weighs only 86 pounds, which is nearly seven times lighter than a standard 600-pound motorcycle. That was achieved using a mix of carbon fiber and 3D-printed components, keeping it agile and nimble in the air.
Unlike the propeller-based Jetson One, the Volonaut Airbike relies on jet propulsion. Although Tomasz Patan is keeping the exact propulsion system a secret for now, he has revealed that a proprietary flight computer and stabilization system allow the vehicle to hover with minimal input from the rider. That means it is designed to be accessible even to beginners, not just experienced pilots.
Visually, the Airbike is like something straight out of a science fiction movie. In fact, one promotional video features a rider dressed as a Stormtrooper to highlight its resemblance to the Speeder Bikes from Return of the Jedi. With no roof or screen blocking the rider’s view, it offers a full 360-degree experience in flight, adding to the feeling of complete freedom.
Although pricing and release details are not yet confirmed, Tomasz Patan says the Airbike will likely be available soon, with more information coming shortly.
