NIO’s New Champion Editions Are More Than Just a Paint Job!
NIO has just given its top-performing lineup a special touch. To mark its Formula E victory from 2015, the company rolled out Champion Commemorative Editions for the ET5 sedan, ET5T touring model, and EC6 coupe-style SUV. These are not your average electric vehicles. They are built to stand out with bold styling and subtle engineering upgrades.
On the outside, all three models come in a striking matte Moonlight Silver paint. A “Champion Edition” badge on the rear and bright fluorescent green brake calipers give these vehicles an unmistakable identity. The ET5 and ET5T ride on 20-inch wheels, while the EC6 gets a more aggressive 21-inch setup. The exterior also benefits from sporty carbon fiber mirror caps, matte metal trim, and a refreshed bumper design inspired by the larger ET9.
Inside the cabin, NIO added fluorescent green highlights to the seat belts, stitching, and steering wheel. The seats are wrapped in Alcantara and embroidered with “Champion Edition” and the year “2015” to honor the brand’s racing history. It is a subtle blend of motorsport flair and premium comfort.
Performance stays familiar with options for a 75 kilowatt-hour or 100 kilowatt-hour battery pack and all-wheel drive dual motors, offering a range of up to 710 kilometers under China’s CLTC test cycle. What really sets these models apart, though, is the improved chassis tuning. NIO tweaked the anti-roll bars and suspension setup to deliver a tighter, more planted driving experience, especially in the ET5 and ET5T.
The updated models also feature NIO’s latest in-house autonomous driving chip, the Shenji NX9031, replacing the previous Nvidia Orin X. The infotainment system is centered around a new horizontal display layout for a more modern interface.
Pricing is competitive for what you get. The ET5 and ET5T Champion Editions start at 316,000 yuan with full ownership or 246,000 yuan using NIO’s Battery-as-a-Service option. The EC6 version costs 370,000 yuan or 300,000 yuan with battery leasing. Deliveries began around July 9, and early buyers get some attractive perks, including 5 years of interest-free financing, 240 free battery swaps, and complimentary access to NOP Plus driver assistance.
For those who value exclusivity and racing heritage in a daily driver, the Champion Commemorative Editions of the ET5, ET5T, and EC6 are a strong statement.
