Maserati MCPURA Explained: Not Just an MC20 Makeover

Maserati MCPURA Explained: Not Just an MC20 Makeover

Maserati is back with something that blends high-end art with serious performance. Meet the new Maserati MCPURA, revealed at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is not here to replace the MC20. Instead, it takes everything that made the MC20 special and dials up the exclusivity and elegance. Think of it as Maserati’s way of saying, “We still own the road.”

The MCPURA keeps the same powerful V6 Nettuno engine as its MC20 sibling. You are looking at 621 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque under the hood. It is good enough to launch from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 2.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 202 miles per hour. No major power upgrades, but that is because Maserati already nailed it.

Where things get interesting is the design. Maserati worked the Fuoriserie Customization Program into overdrive, introducing a paint job called Ai Aqua Rainbow. This unique finish shifts with sunlight, going from matte to glossy depending on the body style—coupe or Cielo. It literally reflects light like a prism.

There are magenta and blue mica Trident badges on the grille, C-pillar, and even centered in the wheels, which feature a burnished diamond-cut finish. It is all in the details.

Inside, you will find Alcantara Ice seats that are laser-etched with updated Trident graphics. Maserati also expanded the body color options to more than 30, including bold picks like Devil Orange and a metallic green called Verde Royale that is paired with Night Interaction.

Both coupe and Cielo models are handcrafted in Modena, where Maserati has been building its legacy for nearly 90 years. From the Nettuno engine assembly to final customization, everything happens under one roof.

Signature features remain: carbon fiber construction, the patented V6 Nettuno engine, butterfly doors, and a retractable glass roof for the Cielo version.

No matter which way you look at it, the MCPURA is not just a car—it is a statement. Maserati is not just playing in the supercar game; it is raising the bar.
