Is the Avatr 06 the Safest EV Yet? Full Crash Test Breakdown

The Avatr 06 is not just a stylish electric car, it is designed with safety at the heart of its engineering. Developed in partnership with Huawei and CATL, this electric SUV brings together innovative technology and solid crash performance. It passed the 50% frontal offset crash test with flying colors and integrates a strong body structure using 34% ultra-high-strength steel to ensure maximum occupant protection.

Inside the cabin, it offers nine airbags as standard, including rear side airbags which are still rare in this segment. The vehicle is built with a triple-layer threshold beam and a large integrated aluminum underbody casting that increases the torsional stiffness by 25%, which helps in high-speed collisions. The battery is wrapped in an aluminum shell with IP68 waterproofing, complete with 24-hour thermal monitoring to guard against overheating or damage during impacts.

On the active safety front, the Avatr 06 uses Huawei’s latest ADS 3.0 driving system, paired with the CAS 3.0 collision avoidance system. This setup supports automatic emergency braking in all directions and responds to stationary vehicles, pedestrians, or cyclists. The car is packed with sensors, including a 192-line LiDAR, multiple radars, and cameras, offering high-precision detection for semi-autonomous driving.

If safety is one of your top priorities in an electric car, the Avatr 06 should definitely be on your radar.
