Is The 2025 Yamaha Tracer 7 The Best Midweight Tourer This Year?

Yamaha steps into 2025 with a major refresh of its middleweight sport touring machines, the Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT. Both models now feature a sharper chassis and better long-distance comfort, making them more than just weekend warriors. The 689 cubic centimeter parallel twin engine delivers around 72 horsepower and 50 pound-feet of torque, giving you more than enough muscle for twisty backroads or cross-country trips.

The GT version takes it a step further. With 34-liter side cases, a taller windscreen, and heated grips, the GT is clearly built with comfort and utility in mind. The five-inch color display supports smartphone integration and turn-by-turn navigation, while cruise control adds ease during highway miles. Improved suspension and a longer swingarm increase stability, giving riders more confidence at speed.

Fuel capacity has been bumped to 18 liters, extending range to around 190 miles. The Tracer 7 now offers serious touring capability in a compact, agile platform. Whether you are a solo commuter or two-up traveler, Yamaha has made sure the 2025 Tracer lineup covers all bases.
