Can the Nissan N7 Save Nissan in China? Full Review and Price Breakdown!
The Nissan N7 electric sedan has officially entered the Chinese market through the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture, aiming to make a bold statement. Starting at 119,900 yuan, roughly 16,450 United States dollars, the N7 combines impressive range, sleek design, and a strong list of features that are sure to catch the attention of EV enthusiasts.
The Nissan N7 is positioned as the first New Energy Vehicle product under this collaboration, marking a fresh start for Nissan in a market where its sales had fallen for five consecutive years. Compared to 2019, the brand’s volume in China declined by 49 percent, making the N7 launch especially crucial for Nissan’s rebound.
Sharing its technology foundation with the Dongfeng eπ 007 sedan, the Nissan N7 is built on the Tianyan Architecture, a platform that supports electric, plug-in hybrid, and range-extended electric vehicles. Its exterior follows Nissan’s signature V-Motion design language, giving the car a sharp, contemporary look. It features a closed-off front with a thin LED strip across the nose, recessed headlights in the bumper, flush door handles, and a streamlined roofline. It even boasts a drag coefficient of just 0.208 Cd, a strong achievement considering its size of 4930 millimeters in length, 1895 millimeters in width, and 1487 millimeters in height with a wheelbase of 2915 millimeters.
Buyers can pick from six body colors, including blue, silver, cyan, beige, white, and black. Wheel options come in R17 and R19 sizes to match different styles and driving preferences.
Inside, the Nissan N7 continues to impress. A large 15.6-inch 2.5K display sits at the center of the dashboard, complemented by a minimalist two-spoke steering wheel. Behind it, the gear selector is tucked away for a cleaner look. The interior offers practical touches such as a 50-watt wireless charging pad, three USB ports, two cup holders, and two color themes: light gray and green-white. Adding even more sophistication, the N7 includes an intelligent driving system developed by Dongfeng Nissan and Momenta.
Powering the infotainment is a Snapdragon 8295P chip from Qualcomm, delivering seamless AI voice interactions through the DeepSeek-R1 model. The system supports HiCar, Carlink, and Apple CarPlay. Comfort is a major highlight too, with front seats that feature a 12-point massage function and up to 14 speakers that surround the cabin in premium sound. Storage is not an issue either, with the trunk offering 504 liters of space. Other luxuries include 256-color ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and even a mini refrigerator.
Two powertrain choices are available. The entry-level model carries a 58 kilowatt-hour LFP battery paired with a front-mounted motor producing 160 kilowatts, equivalent to about 215 horsepower. This setup offers a range between 510 and 540 kilometers. For those seeking more range and power, the higher variant offers a 73 kilowatt-hour battery and a 200 kilowatt motor delivering 268 horsepower, capable of reaching 625 kilometers on a single charge. The Nissan N7 can sprint from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in just 6.9 seconds.
Five trim levels are offered, starting with the Nissan N7 510 Air at 119,900 yuan and topping out with the Nissan N7 625 Max at 149,900 yuan, approximately 20,570 United States dollars. Interestingly, the N7 shares its starting price with its technical twin, the Dongfeng eπ 007.
