Audi TT Revival Rumors: What the New Generation Might Look Like

Audi TT Revival Rumors: What the New Generation Might Look Like

It looks like Audi might not be ready to close the chapter on the TT just yet. Word is spreading that the brand is reconsidering plans to bring back its iconic compact sports car. While nothing is officially confirmed, our friends over at Kolesa took a creative leap and imagined what a modern TT could look like using Audi’s current design language.

For a while, it was assumed that the TT would not get a direct replacement. But lately, with fewer exciting models in Audi’s lineup—especially after the R8 mid-engine sports car ended production in 2023—there is room once again for a bold two-door coupe or roadster.

The Audi TT has always had a strong personality. Despite that, its design barely evolved over its three generations. The overall silhouette remained mostly untouched. Since there is still no official information on the potential TT replacement, these renders rely on clues from Audi’s latest cars.

The updated TT concept keeps the same proportions but introduces a sharper, more modern front with a bigger grille and sleek, narrow headlights featuring pixel-style running lights up top. You will also notice redesigned side mirrors and flush door handles, similar to the latest Audi A5 and A6. The rear quarter windows have a sharp edge, nodding to the styling of the first two generations. Out back, the taillights feature a full-width LED strip, which has become a signature look for the brand. The six-spoke wheels are a nostalgic touch, referencing the original TT’s design.

As for what is under the hood—well, we just do not know yet. Rumors suggest that the next-generation TT could be all-electric or possibly a hybrid. The last generation of the model was built on the MQB platform and came with a turbocharged 2.0-liter or 2.5-liter petrol engine, with power ranging from 197 to 400 horsepower in the high-performance TT RS version.

No word yet on a release date. For now, Audi is more focused on getting through a tough period of declining sales and lower profits. But if the TT does make a comeback, it could be the emotional spark the lineup needs.
