Audi S3 2025 Upgrades Explained: Torque Splitter, 245 kW, and More
Audi is bringing fresh energy to its premium compact lineup in Australia with the launch of the updated Audi A3 and Audi S3. Both the Sportback and Sedan variants have returned with sharper exterior styling, a more refined interior, and meaningful upgrades under the hood—especially for the performance-focused S3.
The new Audi S3 pushes boundaries with increased output and sharper driving dynamics. Under the hood, the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine now produces 245 kilowatts and 420 newton-meters of torque, delivering quicker acceleration and stronger overall pull. It sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.7 seconds, with the top speed electronically limited to 250 kilometers per hour.
Audi did not just stop at power. The S3 now features a torque splitter—technology previously exclusive to the RS 3—that actively distributes power between the rear wheels based on grip. This makes cornering feel tighter, faster, and more responsive. Add in an updated adaptive suspension setup, revised progressive steering, and stiffer front suspension components, and what you get is a hot hatch or compact sedan that feels like it is been tuned for the track, yet remains composed on city streets.
A brand-new “dynamic plus” drive mode has been introduced, unlocking the full potential of the upgraded chassis and torque splitter. This mode delivers a sharper throttle response and a more aggressive launch, thanks in part to the engine’s raised idle speed of 1,300 revolutions per minute and preloaded turbocharger that maintains boost even when coasting. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission has also been optimized to provide a more immediate and exciting takeoff.
Inside the cabin, the Audi S3 continues to distinguish itself from the A3 with more premium materials and added technology. Standard features now include fine Nappa leather seats with diamond stitching, black Dinamica microfiber inlays, and an auto-dimming interior mirror. Audi has also introduced customizable daytime running light signatures with the Matrix LED headlights, multi-color ambient lighting with laser-etched trim, and three-zone automatic climate control.
For drivers who want more than just performance, Audi offers an optional performance exhaust system with a titanium rear silencer. The result is a deeper, more distinct sound that matches the car’s elevated driving dynamics.
This updated S3 is not just more powerful, it is smarter, sharper, and more stylish. Audi has put real effort into making this compact sport sedan a more engaging and rewarding experience, both from behind the wheel and inside the cabin. Whether you prefer the Sportback or Sedan, the new Audi S3 feels like a full-package upgrade from the previous model.
