Frameless doors, similar to the Charger, would instantly give it a more premium and sporty look. In fact, the increase in interest pushed Dodge to bring back the base V6 Pentastar engine with 299 horsepower and 353 Newton meters of torque.

Of course, the heart of the Durango lineup has always been its HEMI engines, and the current range is still a reminder of what makes this SUV special. Buyers can choose between a naturally aspirated 5.7 liter HEMI making 365 horsepower and 529 Newton meters, a naturally aspirated 6.4 liter with 482 horsepower and 637 Newton meters, or the monster supercharged 6.2 liter delivering 720 horsepower and 875 Newton meters. That variety is a big part of the Durango’s personality, and it will be exciting to see how Dodge approaches performance in the next generation.
