Gordon Murray S1 LM – The Secret 690HP V12 Track Monster
Gordon Murray Automotive has revealed something truly special with the S1 LM, a car that goes beyond exclusivity and enters the world of ultra-low-volume creations. Built under the company’s Special Vehicles division, this model is designed for a customer who has a deep admiration for the legendary McLaren F1 victory at Le Mans. It is not just another collector’s car; it is a tribute to motorsport history with a modern twist.
The foundation of the S1 LM comes from the T.50, but this version pushes the boundaries of what a track-focused machine should be. Gordon Murray Automotive calls it a “hardcore track-first setup” that honors the beauty and engineering spirit of Murray’s original design that conquered Le Mans decades ago. From its aggressive stance to the intricate aerodynamics, every detail is shaped by racing DNA.
Visually, the S1 LM captures the essence of the F1 GTR that raced at Le Mans. The roof-mounted intake, quad exhaust positioned at the center, and the new split rear wing create a silhouette that feels both familiar and futuristic. Add in the large diffuser and front splitter, and it is clear that this car was engineered with downforce and precision in mind. At certain angles, it looks like the clock has been turned back 30 years, only with sharper and more purposeful details.
Under the hood, the car remains faithful to Gordon Murray Automotive’s love of naturally aspirated V12 engines and manual gearboxes. This V12 has been enlarged to 4.3 liters and now produces over 690 horsepower. Combined with a six-speed manual transmission and an even stiffer suspension setup, the S1 LM is not just a showpiece—it is a machine built for pure driving performance.
Exclusivity is part of its story. Only 5 units will ever be made, and remarkably, they are all going to one client for an undisclosed price. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2026. While this might sound almost mythical, it reflects the direction Gordon Murray Automotive is taking: creating rolling works of art for the most passionate enthusiasts in the world.
As CEO Phil Lee said, the company remains dedicated to driving perfection, lightweight engineering, and exclusivity, while also exploring new ways to collaborate with its customers. The S1 LM is just the beginning, and the brand promises more one-off and special creations to follow.
