2026 Subaru Uncharted Revealed: Dual-Motor AWD and Over 300 Miles of Range

Subaru is turning the page on its electric journey with a fresh take that blends performance, practicality, and personality. Say hello to the 2026 Subaru Uncharted, the brand’s newest and smallest electric vehicle, joining the lineup after the Solterra and the Trailseeker. Even though it shares a platform with the Toyota CH-R, the Uncharted comes with its own Subaru flair, both in how it looks and how it drives.
In a surprising move, Subaru is offering a front-wheel drive version of the Uncharted, a rarity for the brand in the United States. The entry-level Premium model delivers 221 horsepower from a single electric motor and will be produced in limited numbers. If you are looking for more punch, the Sport and GT trims come with dual motors, producing a total of 338 horsepower. These all-wheel drive models can reportedly sprint from zero to sixty miles per hour in just five seconds, which is faster than the current WRX.
Powering all variants is a 74.4 kilowatt-hour battery pack. The front-wheel drive model is expected to offer a driving range of over 300 miles, while the Sport and GT trims are estimated at around 290 miles. Charging will not be a hassle either. The Uncharted comes with the North American Charging Standard port, similar to Tesla’s, and can handle up to 150 kilowatts for a ten to eighty percent top-up in approximately 30 minutes.
What sets the Uncharted apart is how Subaru has tuned the chassis. Designed to handle more than just city streets, the suspension and handling are dialed in for some off-road fun. The all-wheel drive versions also come with Subaru’s X-Mode driving system for added grip on loose surfaces.
Step inside, and the cabin mirrors much of what you will find in the Toyota CH-R. There is a compact seven-inch digital gauge cluster and a large fourteen-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with dual wireless phone chargers. Standard features are generous and include heated seats, heated side mirrors, a windshield de-icer, power tailgate, and Subaru’s full suite of active safety technology.
If you opt for the Sport model, you get added comforts like a heated steering wheel and surround-view cameras. The top-tier GT brings even more premium touches, such as ventilated front seats, heated outer rear seats, larger twenty-inch wheels, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system.
Despite its compact footprint, the Uncharted is designed smartly. It is nearly seven inches shorter than the Solterra, measuring about 177.6 inches in total length. That puts it just a little longer than a Crosstrek, yet it offers 25 cubic feet of rear cargo space, which is more than what the Crosstrek provides.
Pricing details will be revealed closer to the Uncharted’s launch in early 2026, but expectations are pointing toward a starting price in the mid 30,000 dollar range. Of course, tariffs and other factors could shift that figure.
