XPeng G7 Electric SUV Is Smarter Than You Think

XPeng G7 Electric SUV Is Smarter Than You Think

The new XPeng G7 is turning heads in the electric vehicle space with its sharp design, smart technology, and serious performance. Sitting between the XPeng G6 and G9 in the lineup, the G7 offers a sleek fastback-style design and a roomy, tech-filled interior that feels like a premium lounge on wheels. But this is not just about looks—XPeng is calling it its first artificial intelligence car, and for good reason.

Buyers have the option between two battery sizes: a 68.5 kilowatt-hour pack with up to 602 kilometers of range, or an 80.8 kilowatt-hour version pushing up to 702 kilometers based on the CLTC standard. Both are powered by a rear-mounted 218 kilowatt motor and supported by an 800 volt electrical system for ultra-fast charging. It is built on XPeng’s SEPA 2.0 platform and is roughly the same size as a Tesla Model Y, which it directly competes against.

Where the G7 really stands out is its onboard tech. The Ultra trim features three proprietary XPeng Turing chips that deliver up to 2,250 trillion operations per second. That level of power enables Level 3 autonomous driving functions like advanced highway and urban navigation, and even automated parking—all without lidar sensors. There is also an 87 inch augmented reality head-up display co-developed with Huawei that projects key driving information onto the windshield.

Inside, the cabin is upscale and quiet, with features like ventilated massaging seats, wood accents, a panoramic sunroof, and a 20 speaker audio system. At a starting price of around $32,400 in China, the XPeng G7 makes a serious case for itself in a rapidly growing segment.
