Xiaomi SU7 Ultra vs 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S – Nürburgring Times Compared
When two very different manufacturers step onto the same legendary track, comparisons become inevitable. The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and the 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S could not be further apart in heritage, yet both showed what modern performance machines are capable of at the Nürburgring.
Xiaomi, better known for smartphones, shocked the automotive world when its SU7 Ultra clocked a certified production-car lap time of 7:04.95 at the Nordschleife. It was the fastest lap ever recorded by an electric production car. With up to 1,548 horsepower on tap and 1,770 Newton-meters of torque, the car launches from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 1.98 seconds. Those numbers sound like science fiction, but they are now part of reality.
On the other side, Porsche demonstrated why it remains a benchmark. The updated 2026 911 Turbo S, powered by a 701-horsepower hybridized flat-six, set a blistering 7:03.92 lap, edging out the Xiaomi by just over a second. This model is not only about power, delivering 590 pound-feet of torque, but also balance, refinement, and the confidence of decades of racing DNA. It can sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.4 seconds and continues to a 200-mile-per-hour top speed.
What is remarkable is how close the lap times are, despite the completely different philosophies. Xiaomi relies on brute-force electric output and instant torque, while Porsche balances traditional combustion with electric assistance for precision and consistency. These cars highlight two visions of performance: one looking to the future, the other refining a legacy.
