World’s Most Powerful Lamborghini? Meet the 1,065 HP Fenomeno
Lamborghini has taken the supercar world by storm with its latest creation, the Fenomeno. Built on the foundation of the flagship Revuelto, this extraordinary machine features the most powerful V-12 engine ever made by the brand, enhanced by a sophisticated hybrid system. Lamborghini describes it as a “design manifesto” for the future, and with only 29 units planned for production, it is as exclusive as it is extreme.
Unlike Lamborghini’s tradition of naming cars after legendary Spanish fighting bulls, the Fenomeno’s name comes from the Italian word for “phenomenon.” The name first appeared earlier this year in patent filings, complete with an official logo in Lamborghini’s signature typeface. While no explanation for the name was given in the press release, the meaning is a perfect fit for its head-turning design.
Underneath, the Fenomeno shares much of its DNA with the Revuelto, including its 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V-12. However, Lamborghini has reworked the valvetrain to push output to 823 horsepower and 534 pound-feet of torque. Two electric motors, each producing 147 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, power the front axle. A third motor, mounted above the dual-clutch gearbox, helps bring the combined output to an astonishing 1,065 horsepower.
The carbon fiber monocoque and “forged composite” front crash structure—made from short carbon fibers embedded in resin—come straight from Lamborghini’s expertise in lightweight construction. The body is crafted entirely from carbon fiber, with aggressive angles and Lamborghini’s signature Y-shaped design elements, inspired by the all-electric Terzo Millennio concept from 2017.
Design director Mitja Borkert describes the Fenomeno as “an unexpectedly elegant spaceship,” blending sophistication with athletic aggression. New aerodynamic features include an S-duct at the nose and uniquely shaped doors that channel cold air toward the massive rear intakes. These intakes resemble NACA ducts, a nod to the original Countach, and contribute to a blistering 0 to 60 mph time of just 2.4 seconds and a top speed exceeding 217 mph.
Performance is not limited to straight-line speed. The Fenomeno uses carbon-ceramic brakes with technology derived from Lamborghini’s LMDh race cars, paired with a manually adjustable suspension and a groundbreaking “6D” sensor. This system measures acceleration, pitch, roll, and yaw in real time to deliver optimal grip and traction—the first of its kind in a production Lamborghini.
The Fenomeno follows in the footsteps of Lamborghini’s other ultra-rare “few-off” creations, such as the Reventón, Sesto Elemento, Veneno, Centenario, Sián, and the reborn Countach. According to CEO Stephan Winkelmann, it represents the pinnacle of Lamborghini’s design, power, and technology. Pricing has not been revealed, but with such exclusivity, it will likely cost several million dollars—and is probably already sold out. For most enthusiasts, today’s debut at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering, may be the only chance to see it in person.
