UBTECH Robotics has officially begun the world’s first mass delivery of humanoid robots with its Walker S2 model, marking a major step forward in industrial automation. The Shenzhen-based company announced that the Walker S2 is entering real-world factory and logistics environments, signaling that humanoid robots are moving beyond prototypes and into daily operations.

The Walker S2 stands out with one remarkable ability—it can autonomously replace its own battery. This feature allows the robot to perform nearly continuous operations, completing a full battery swap in about 3 minutes without human help. That is a massive advantage for industries where every minute of uptime counts. UBTECH says the robot can work around the clock by automatically switching its power source, making it one of the most practical humanoid solutions yet.

The company’s commercial success reflects growing confidence in the technology. UBTECH has reported more than 800 million yuan in orders—roughly 113 million U.S. dollars—from major manufacturing partners, including several electric vehicle and electronics firms. Video footage released in November 2025 shows rows of Walker S2 units undergoing inspection and shipping preparation, supporting the company’s claim of genuine large-scale production and delivery.

What makes this development important is not just the technology itself but what it represents for the future of work. The Walker S2 could help fill labor shortages in manufacturing and logistics while opening doors to new forms of human-robot collaboration. Of course, challenges remain—costs, reliability, and integration with existing systems are still key concerns—but this marks a bold beginning.
