The 2026 Leapmotor D19 SUV: Luxury, Power, and Tech Redefined

The 2026 Leapmotor D19 SUV: Luxury, Power, and Tech Redefined

Leapmotor has officially introduced its new flagship, the D19 full-sized sport utility vehicle, marking a bold step forward for the brand. Built on Leapmotor’s advanced D platform, the D19 will be offered in both all-electric and extended-range electric versions, bringing impressive performance and futuristic technology when it arrives in the first half of 2026.

The exterior design follows the brand’s “Technology Natural Aesthetics 2.0” philosophy. At the front, a three-stage headlight cluster doubles as a projector, while an active lower grille adjusts automatically based on driving conditions. A lidar sensor sits neatly on the roof, giving the D19 a high-tech presence. Around back, a single continuous taillight stretches 1958 mm across and contains an astonishing 11,025 light-emitting diode units.

The D19’s dimensions reflect its flagship status, measuring more than 5.2 meters in length, nearly 2 meters in width, and a wheelbase exceeding 3.1 meters. Buyers will be able to choose from five exterior colors: green, white, silver, gray, and black.

Under the hood, the all-electric version delivers a combined 540 kW, equal to 724 horsepower, paired with a 115 kWh battery developed by Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL). This advanced battery combines both lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium materials, giving the D19 a driving range of up to 720 km. Thanks to its 1000V high-voltage system, charging 350 km of range takes only 15 minutes, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h happens in under 3 seconds.

The extended-range electric version uses an 800V platform with a smaller 80.3 kWh battery and dual electric motors delivering a total of 400 kW, or 536 horsepower. It can travel 500 km purely on electric power, and with fast charging, the battery can be recharged from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes.

Inside, technology takes center stage. The D19 is equipped with two Qualcomm Snapdragon 8797 chips delivering a combined computing power of up to 1280 trillion operations per second—one chip handles the intelligent cockpit, while the other supports advanced driver assistance.

A standout innovation is its built-in oxygen generator, the first of its kind in the industry. Capable of producing up to 8 liters of oxygen per minute, it is designed for drivers who love exploring high-altitude regions such as Tibet.

Leapmotor’s D19 is more than a vehicle—it represents a forward-thinking blend of luxury, intelligence, and performance.
