Next-Gen BMW M3 EV: First Look at the Future of Performance
BMW’s legendary M3 is heading into an electric future, and thanks to some exciting new renders from Kolesa, we are getting an early peek at what the electric version of this performance icon might look like. This is not just a design exercise—it is a hint at what the next chapter in BMW’s M legacy could be.
The front of the rendered M3 EV showcases a bold stance with a wide and low profile. The classic kidney grille has been transformed into a cleaner, more aerodynamic panel, ditching the open slats for a flush design. Sharp LED headlights and sporty lower bumper details bring a futuristic attitude, while still honoring the aggression we expect from a proper M car.
Down the side, the design stays true to the M3’s athletic nature. The sculpted fenders, low roofline, and large wheels remind us this car means business. Sleek, flush door handles and refined surface work give it a streamlined, modern appearance—something crucial for electric efficiency.
At the rear, the renders ditch the signature quad exhaust pipes for a smooth bumper and subtle diffuser treatment. Slim taillights and a wide stance complete the look, reinforcing that this M3 is something different—but no less serious.
BMW has already confirmed a high-performance electric M vehicle is in development. The M3 EV is expected to ride on the brand’s new Neue Klasse platform, which is being designed from the ground up to support fully electric performance. If these renders are any indication, the future of the M3 will be fast, clean, and unmistakably BMW.
