New Nissan Armada Dune Patrol Concept – A Desert Monster in the Making

New Nissan Armada Dune Patrol Concept – A Desert Monster in the Making

The new Nissan Armada Dune Patrol concept takes everything we know about the redesigned SUV and turns it into a full-blown off-road beast. It is not just a styling exercise — this concept shows what the Armada could become if Nissan decided to give it the hardcore off-road treatment enthusiasts dream about.

Built as a showpiece for the SEMA Show, the Dune Patrol rides on a custom CJD Racing long-travel suspension with a massive 16.0 inches of articulation. It uses 10.0-inch 2.5 Bilstein M 9200 coilovers at both ends, paired with unique upper and lower control arms, new drive axles, front spindles, trailing arms, and tie rods. Even the brake lines have been extended to handle serious terrain flex.

To complete the aggressive stance, Nissan fitted 18-inch bronze AXIS beadlock wheels wrapped in 37-inch Yokohama Geolandar MT tires. The setup gives the SUV incredible off-road capability while maintaining a rugged, race-ready look.

The exterior is loaded with prototype Nismo parts, including a high-clearance off-road bumper with an integrated front skid plate, front recovery tow shackles, and four 6-inch amber Nismo off-road lights. The rear end features another high-clearance bumper, a spare tire carrier, and an accessory mount holding MaxTrac traction boards. Rock sliders, A-pillar lights, MOLLE panels, and a low-profile roof rack add to the functionality, while the custom wrap ties it all together.

Under the hood, Nissan kept the same twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 425 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The only performance upgrade is a prototype Nismo cat-back exhaust, hinting at future performance parts.

Inside, the Dune Patrol includes genuine Nissan accessories like high-wall floor mats, seatback organizers, and door scuff protectors — items owners can actually buy today.

While Nissan is unlikely to mass-produce a desert runner like this, the Dune Patrol concept shows just how much potential the new Armada has. The idea of turning some of these prototype Nismo parts into production accessories is something off-road fans would love to see happen.
