New Kia K4 Hatchback for 2026 – Extra Space and Sporty Style Revealed
The hatchback version of the Kia K4 is finally here, making its official debut after a long wait since it was teased at the New York auto show. Set to arrive in the United States by the end of 2025, this compact hatchback brings something extra to the table compared to its sedan sibling—more cargo space and extra flexibility.
By ditching the traditional trunk, the K4 hatchback ends up being 11 inches shorter than the sedan. From the front to the B-pillar, the design stays the same. But after that, the hatchback’s sloped roofline changes the game, giving rear passengers more headroom and making the cargo area more practical. You get 22 cubic feet of space with the seats up and a generous 59 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat.
Under the hood, the K4 hatchback comes with the same powertrains as the sedan. The base engine is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that produces 147 horsepower and is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The top GT-Line Turbo trim steps things up with a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder making 190 horsepower and mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It also includes larger brakes, a sunroof, and LED headlights.
Visually, the GT-Line trims add a sportier edge with 18-inch wheels, black accents, and a performance-style steering wheel with paddle shifters. Inside, you will find the same tech as the sedan, including a digital instrument cluster, a central touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
Driver-assist technology is also part of the package, with features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. Pricing is expected to start just above $25,000 and top out north of $30,000 for a fully loaded GT-Line Turbo.
