New BMW R 1300 RT Review: Most Powerful BMW Tourer Yet!

BMW Motorrad has taken everything people loved about the R 1250 RT and reworked it into something more powerful, more comfortable, and even more versatile. The 2026 BMW R 1300 RT is not just an update—it is a complete rethinking of what a modern touring motorcycle can be. Lighter, faster, and loaded with intelligent technology, this bike is built for riders who want long-distance comfort without sacrificing performance.

At the heart of the new R 1300 RT is a redesigned 1,300 cc boxer engine that pushes out 145 horsepower and 110 pound-feet of torque. Compared to the previous model, it is not only stronger, but it is also smoother and more efficient. The integration of BMW’s ShiftCam technology allows the engine to seamlessly adjust for performance or economy based on how the bike is being ridden. Whether you are taking on twisty roads or cruising down the highway, the power delivery feels refined and robust.

The suspension has also been completely revamped. BMW’s EVO Telelever front and EVO Paralever rear suspension work together to give you more stability and precision through the corners. This system gives riders the option to shift gears automatically or manually without needing a clutch lever.
