New Baby Bentley Electric SUV Coming Soon – First Details And Render
Bentley is quietly working on its next big move, and this time it is a more compact electric crossover that will sit below the Bentayga. Recently, fresh spy photos of heavily camouflaged prototypes surfaced, giving us our first real look at how this new model is taking shape. Even under all that disguise, you can already sense that Bentley is not just shrinking the Bentayga, but creating something with its own personality and purpose.
It has been almost 9 years since the original Bentayga launched, and only now are the first test mules of this new crossover hitting public roads. The thick camouflage tries hard to hide the details, even mimicking Bentley’s familiar four oval headlight look. But if you look closely, you can see the outline of a sleeker front lighting signature with a more horizontal upper edge. The front grille area, or what will likely be a mostly closed panel on the production car, also seems to break away from the company’s classic mesh design, signaling a fresh face for Bentley’s electric future.
Along the side, the new crossover shows off frameless side windows, adding a touch of coupe like elegance. The window line is more dynamic than on the Bentayga, with a curved sill that sweeps over the rear wheel arches and gives the car a more athletic stance. Traditional door handles designed for a natural grip remain, while extra cameras in the front fenders hint at advanced driver assistance systems and a premium surround view setup. At the rear, the bumper shape, license plate recess, and a faux diffuser are already visible, even if the tailgate is still buried under camouflage. Unlike the Bentayga, the trunk lid appears narrower and will not open together with the rear light clusters.
Under the skin, this new Bentley will be fully electric and is expected to share its core hardware with the Porsche Cayenne Electric. That means it should ride on the Premium Platform Electric architecture with an 800 volt system for fast charging and high efficiency. Exact power figures for the Bentley are still under wraps, but the electric Cayenne offers a base version with 442 horsepower and a Turbo model with up to 1,156 horsepower. It would not be surprising if Bentley tunes its version for effortless performance, strong range, and a very refined driving experience.
The official premiere of Bentley’s new electric crossover is expected next year, and it will mark a major step as the brand expands its lineup of luxury electric vehicles.
