New 2026 Honda X-ADV: The Adventure Scooter America Still Does Not Have
Honda is giving its adventurous X-ADV scooter a subtle but meaningful update for 2026. For riders who love the idea of mixing urban commuting with light off-road fun, the X-ADV continues to be one of the most interesting choices out there. It is not your average city scooter—it is built to take on more than just stop-and-go traffic.
The highlight of the update is a stunning new special edition color called Mat Pearl Glare White. It is accented with red and blue graphics that nod to Honda’s adventure models like the Africa Twin and the Transalp. This joins returning colors like Graphite Black, Mat Deep Mud Gray, and Pearl Glare White, giving riders more visual personality to choose from.
Mechanically, Honda has not changed much—and that is actually a smart move. The X-ADV still uses a 745 cubic centimeters parallel-twin engine that delivers strong, usable power. It is matched with Honda’s Dual Clutch Transmission, which lets riders enjoy either fully automatic mode or manual gear shifts without a clutch lever. With 41 millimeter upside-down front forks and a Pro-Link rear suspension, the ride remains stable and comfortable. Braking is handled by radial-mounted four-piston calipers, providing solid stopping power when you need it.
But Honda is doing more than just refreshing colors. The company is leaning into sustainability. The X-ADV’s body panels are now made with recycled and biomass-based plastics, including a plant-based material called Durabio. This helps reduce the need for paint and cuts down on production-related emissions. It is a small step with big implications, and it fits Honda’s long-term goal to use only sustainable materials by 2050.
For those who like to make their bike their own, Honda is rolling out updated accessories, including a new passenger backrest and a sleek Akrapovic slip-on muffler.
Even though the X-ADV is hugely popular in Europe, it is not available in the United States. That is because the American market has not fully embraced the maxi-scooter scene—at least, not yet. But maybe it is time to reconsider. With the comfort of a tourer and the practicality of a step-through design, the X-ADV might be the adventure-ready commuter that more riders have been waiting for.
