New 2026 Audi A6: 362 HP, 4.5s to 60, Next-Gen Tech Explained

The ninth-generation Audi A6 lands with the quiet confidence of a seasoned pro that just learned a few new tricks. Arriving in the United States in late 2025 with a starting price of $64,100, the 2026 A6 is quicker, calmer, and more dialed-in than before, without losing the polished business-class vibe that makes it so easy to live with.

Under the hood sits a reworked 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 matched to a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and standard quattro all-wheel drive. Output climbs to 362 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, good for a 0 to 60 mph run in 4.5 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph. Beyond the spec sheet, engineers chased down the tiny noises and tingles you notice on long drives—refined mounts, revised gear tooth profiles, and smarter insulation turn highway miles into a quiet glide.

For drivers who want more edge, the A6 now borrows hardware once reserved for the S6. Prestige models bring adaptive air suspension with electronically controlled dampers, while the sport setup adds a 20-millimeter drop, all-wheel steering, and a sport rear differential. Pair that with 21-inch wheels and summer rubber, red calipers, and supportive perforated sport seats with massage, and the car steps confidently into “executive athlete” territory.

The cabin is where Audi’s “human centric” approach really shows. A curved OLED “digital stage” blends an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit with a 14.5-inch MMI touchscreen, and Prestige trims add a 10.9-inch passenger display so your co-pilot can run navigation or playlists. The new configurable head-up display is more than 85 percent larger than before, and the panoramic “digital curtain” glass roof uses six liquid crystal segments to adjust light and boost headroom by 2 inches. Space and practicality hold up too, with five-passenger seating, a 13.5-cubic-feet trunk, and a handy 40:20:40 split-folding rear bench.

Acoustic comfort gets a real upgrade: Audi targets a 30 percent improvement in sound insulation with acoustic glazing (extended to the rear on Prestige), tighter seals, and tire foam inserts. The available Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System—up to 20 speakers and 810 watts with headrest speakers on Prestige—turns the A6 into a rolling lounge.

Outside, the design stays crisp and purposeful: a low Singleframe grille, slim lighting with digital LED daytime running lights (48 segments per headlamp on Premium Plus and Prestige), and optional OLED rears with 198 controllable segments unlock dramatic light signatures. Eleven colors and wheel choices from 19 to 21 inches let you dial in the look; the S line Black Optic pack brings darker jewelry and bolder intakes.

Chassis tuning focuses on agility that does not punish. Lightweight five-link suspension components, a rigid front subframe, and hydraulically mounted rear subframe build a stable platform. Progressive steering calms the car on the interstate and quickens in tight turns, while all-wheel steering trims the turning circle to 11.3 meters (37.0 inches) and settles the car at speed by steering rear wheels in phase. Quattro with ultra technology can decouple the rear axle to save fuel, then shuffle torque quickly when the weather turns or the road invites you to play.

Put simply, the 2026 Audi A6 gives you more of everything—performance, refinement, and personalization—without asking you to compromise your daily rhythm.
