Lucid’s Gravity X Concept Is an Off-Road Electric SUV You Did Not See Coming
Lucid is taking its new Gravity SUV and giving it a wilder twist with the Gravity X concept, revealed this week during Monterey Car Week. While the standard Gravity is already known for being surprisingly fun on dirt roads, this new concept pushes it further toward off-road adventure.
The Gravity X is based on the 824-horsepower Gravity Grand Touring, but Lucid has given it a complete off-road makeover. It features redesigned front and rear fascias with integrated tow hooks, a lifted suspension, wider tracks, heavy-duty skid plates, rugged body cladding, and aggressive all-terrain tires. The bold orange accents add to its adventurous personality, while the lift and new fascias improve approach and departure angles for more confident handling on rough terrain.
On the roof sits a storage box with integrated LED lights, making it ready for overlanding trips. Inside, the orange accents continue, paired with a microsuede steering wheel. This version is configured as a 3-row SUV, so it is as family-friendly as it is adventure-ready.
Lucid has not confirmed if this concept will become a production model, especially as the company is still ramping up production of the standard Gravity. However, the Gravity X clearly shows that Lucid is paying attention to the growing excitement around off-road-inspired electric SUVs, similar to the buzz Rivian has generated with the R3X. Many enthusiasts hope Lucid will bring it to market and expand the boundaries of electric adventure vehicles.
