Inside Porsche’s Tribute to Transfăgărășan 911 Carrera 4 GTS – Only 10 Made
Porsche has unveiled something truly special for enthusiasts and collectors alike — the first of ten bespoke 911 Carrera 4 GTS “Tribute to Transfăgărășan” models. Delivered to its new owner in Romania, the car was celebrated with a spirited drive along the famous Transfăgărășan highway, a road often called the “road that touches the clouds.”
The project was born in 2024 when the legendary Transfăgărășan celebrated its 50th anniversary, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Turbo. To honor both milestones, Porsche Clubs in Romania and Moldova organized a spectacular driving event with over 110 Porsches and 200 guests. The passion displayed during that celebration inspired Porsche’s Sonderwunsch team to create a limited series of 10 vehicles, each uniquely customized for its owner.
The first car is finished in Graphite Grey Paint to Sample, accented with Guards Red details on the wheel spokes and headlight rings. The Romanian flag’s blue, yellow, and red colors are subtly painted on the rear engine grille slats. Exclusive “Tribute to Transfăgărășan” decals on the doors, special badging on the B-pillars, and personalized illuminated door sills make it unmistakable. The interior continues the tribute with the name embroidered on the headrests, embossed on the armrest, and displayed on the passenger dashboard.
Under the skin, the 911 Carrera 4 GTS features a new 3.6-liter boxer engine paired with hybrid technology, producing 541 PS and 610 Nm of torque. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 312 km/h. Despite the added hybrid components, weight gain is minimal compared to the non-plug-in predecessor.
Through the Sonderwunsch program, each of the 10 owners will have their vehicle individually tailored at Porsche’s Zuffenhausen facility, choosing unique paint colors, interior materials, and custom accessories. The remaining nine vehicles will be delivered by the end of August at a special event.
