Hyundai Just Built a Street-Legal Race Car: Meet the Elantra N TCR Edition

The 2026 Hyundai Elantra N TCR Edition brings the essence of motorsport to the streets. Designed as a tribute to Hyundai’s touring car racing program, this limited-edition performance sedan is not just about aesthetics—it delivers real race-inspired upgrades that push it far beyond your average daily driver.

Under the hood is a two-liter turbocharged gasoline direct injection four-cylinder engine, producing 276 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque. Choose the manual transmission for full control or go with the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission to unlock Hyundai’s N Grin Shift feature, giving you a twenty-second power boost up to 286 horsepower for those high-intensity sprints.

What really sets the TCR Edition apart is its racing DNA. It wears a massive carbon fiber swan-neck rear wing, developed straight from Hyundai’s TCR race cars. Lightweight nineteen-inch forged wheels and an upgraded braking system—featuring four-piston monoblock calipers and ventilated two-piece rotors—deliver the stopping power you want when pushing limits.

Inside, you will find Alcantara trim on the steering wheel, gear shifter, armrest, and parking brake lever. There are also performance blue seatbelts, custom N-branded floor mats, and metal door sill plates to remind you this is not just another Elantra. Exterior badges and motorsport-inspired details complete the package.

Available by special order and launching initially in Canada, the Elantra N TCR Edition is priced around fifty thousand Canadian dollars. It is a few thousand above the regular Elantra N, but for the added track capability and exclusivity, it offers great value. There is no official word on United States availability yet, but interest is growing.

Whether you are a weekend warrior who enjoys the occasional track day or simply love a car with purpose-built performance and unique styling, the 2026 Elantra N TCR Edition ticks the right boxes.
