Faster Than a Porsche? Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Shocks Nürburgring With Insane Lap Time
When it comes to setting records on the Nürburgring, expectations are always sky high—but the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra production version has just changed the game. Clocking a time of 7:04.957 minutes on the legendary 20.832 kilometer Nordschleife, it has not only become the fastest four-door electric vehicle ever, but it also outpaced some of the most respected performance cars on the planet. Yes, that includes the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS in its standard production form.
The Cayman GT4 RS is no slouch. It ran the same track in 7:09.300 minutes, which is phenomenal for a lightweight rear-engine sports coupe with a naturally aspirated flat-six. But the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, a full-sized electric sedan with four doors and a trunk, managed to edge it out by roughly 4.3 seconds. That is huge when you consider the weight and design differences between the two vehicles.
What is even more impressive is that the SU7 Ultra is not a stripped-down prototype. This was a certified production model with a Track Professional Package. That includes track-optimized tires, adjustable coilovers, carbon aerodynamic components, and a six-point harness. Xiaomi went all-in to ensure that this was a real road car, not just a garage queen.
The GT4 RS still holds its charm for purists—raw sound, precise driving dynamics, and that Porsche badge. But if performance numbers speak louder than tradition, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has delivered a bold statement. Electric sedans are not just practical; they are now challenging the best combustion sports cars on their own turf.
