Exclusive Kia EV9 Nightfall Edition: Hidden Feature Most Missed

Exclusive Kia EV9 Nightfall Edition: Hidden Feature Most Missed

Kia is bringing a bold new edge to its all-electric SUV lineup with the 2026 EV9 Nightfall Edition. Revealed at the New York Auto Show, this special version of the EV9 adds aggressive style, upgraded details, and extra performance to an already impressive electric vehicle. If you thought the standard EV9 was cool, the Nightfall takes it up another level.

The design focus here is clearly on blacked-out accents. Kia has gone all in with a gloss black finish nearly everywhere you look—on the grille accents, roof rails, lower sills, mirror caps, skid plates, and even the emblems. This edition rides on exclusive 20-inch gloss black wheels wrapped in 275/50R all-season tires, all sitting beneath a body that can now be painted in an exclusive color called Roadrider Brown. Unfortunately, Kia only showed a white model at the reveal, but the new earthtone sounds like a stylish and unique option.

Inside, the mood stays dark and refined with an exclusive black interior, complete with contrast stitching, a black headliner, and your choice of a 6-seat layout with captain’s chairs or a 7-seat option using a 60/40 bench in the second row. The premium touches give it a more upscale vibe compared to other trims.

Under the skin, the EV9 Nightfall Edition delivers more than just looks. It comes with a dual-motor setup producing 379 horsepower and now includes a Boost function as standard. This feature raises torque from 443 pound-feet to 516 pound-feet, helping it sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds. That is seriously quick for a three-row electric SUV.

Thanks to support for the North American Charging Standard, owners will also get access to Tesla Superchargers across the country, as well as CCS networks through an optional adapter. Charging flexibility is a big win here.

Production will take place at Kia’s factory in West Point, Georgia, and yes—it qualifies for the $7,500 federal tax credit. Sales begin in the second quarter of 2025, and although pricing has not been confirmed, expect it to sit well above the $54,900 base price of the standard EV9.

If you want to experience it up close, head to the 2025 New York Auto Show and see the EV9 Nightfall Edition in person.
