Exclusive Ferrari 296 Speciale for Piloti Drivers – Unveiled Before the 24 Hours of Le Mans
Ferrari has once again blended racing heritage with exclusivity by unveiling the 296 Speciale Piloti Ferrari edition just before the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Created under the brand’s Tailor Made program, this special version pays tribute to Ferrari’s racing customers and their victories in the FIA World Endurance Championship. The public reveal took place right at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe, adding to the emotional connection behind the car.
This special configuration is only available to those involved in Ferrari’s official motorsport activities—whether on track or off it. Drawing inspiration from the Ferrari 499P, the overall winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in both 2023 and 2024, the Piloti Ferrari edition celebrates the spirit of endurance racing and the community that supports it. Every design detail reflects a deep appreciation for competition and teamwork.
Customers can choose between four race-inspired exterior colors: Rosso Scuderia, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona, and Argento Nürburgring. Each car also features the WEC logo hand-painted in Giallo Modena, along with the Italian flag on the front bumper and a unique racing number chosen by the client. The model shown at Le Mans wears number 51, which pays homage to the car driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi to victory in 2023.
Step inside, and the cabin carries that same sense of track-inspired luxury. Black Alcantara racing seats come with fireproof fabric inserts—the same material found in real racing suits. A matching number appears inside on the carbon fiber elements, and the footwell has customizable metal trim. There is also a special carbon plaque and door sills that include a personalized dedication.
The 296 Speciale takes everything great about the 296 GTB and turns it up a notch. This plug-in hybrid berlinetta features a 120-degree twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with an electric motor, producing a total of 868 horsepower. The internal combustion engine has been reworked with Formula One-inspired components, and the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission has been optimized to shift faster than ever before using Ferrari’s high-speed shifting logic.
Aerodynamics have been pushed even further, with a 20 percent increase in downforce compared to the standard 296 GTB. Ferrari has managed to shave off weight and upgrade the chassis for sharper response and better handling on the track. Add in elements like gamma rear wings, suspended splitters, and an oversized diffuser, and it is clear that this car is not just built for speed—it is built for pure racing emotion.
