Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak Concept: Off-Road Minivan You Did Not Expect
Chrysler is taking a confident step into the overlanding world with the Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept, revealed at Overland Expo Mountain West from August 22 to August 24. Built on the brand’s long legacy of minivan innovation, this concept speaks directly to families, photographers, and weekend explorers who want the freedom to chase dirt roads without giving up the comfort and flexibility that made Pacifica a best seller. It is the kind of vehicle that makes you look at a campground map, smile, and keep driving until the pavement ends.
The stance tells you the story before the doors even open. A suspension lift raises the body above the standard Limited all-wheel drive model by 2.75 inches in the front and 2.5 inches in the rear. Off-road 31-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires wrap 18-inch Foreshadow wheels, adding real bite for gravel and rutted trails. The Arktos matte finish paint with Foreshadow accents looks purposeful rather than flashy, while a Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform sits up top to swallow recovery gear, duffels, and camp essentials. Roof-mounted TYRI light emitting diode auxiliary lamps and Baja Designs LP4 light emitting diode fog pods bring daylight to dark trailheads, and an ARB retractable awning creates instant shade the moment you stop. Paint-protective wrap and Mopar splash guards show Chrysler thought about the messy reality of trail miles.
Inside, the Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept leans hard into what van-lifers actually need. The third-row seat is replaced by a large, flat cargo floor panel so you can configure the space for sleeping or carry long, awkward gear. Chrysler adds a second set of tie-downs behind the second row, and there is a 115-volt, 450-watt power outlet in the rear to charge cameras, air mattresses, or a portable fridge. The concept color scheme mixes Cement Gray with Liquid Titanium accents across the instrument panel, door bezels, and steering wheel bezels for a clean, modern vibe. Katzkin leather seating surfaces and bright orange seat belts give it a trail-ready personality, while a sport steering wheel with unique dimple perforation and paddle shifters adds a little fun to the drive between campsites.
Practical touches keep stacking up. Mopar Chrysler-branded stackable totes and all-weather floor mats tame the daily clutter of camp life. A newly available space-saver spare tire rides along for peace of mind, and a Mopar roadside first-aid kit is exactly where it should be. The result is a minivan that still behaves like a minivan when you need school-run convenience, yet becomes a simple, comfortable basecamp when the weekend finally arrives.
What makes this concept compelling is not a single flashy feature, but how the whole package invites you to say yes more often. Yes to a last-minute sunrise shoot. Yes to the detour that turns into a memory. Yes to sleeping inside when the wind gets loud. If that spirit speaks to you, the Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept feels like Chrysler winking and saying, “Go ahead.”
