BYD Qin PLUS Progressive Edition – Long Range, Low Price, Big Upgrades!

The second-generation BYD Qin PLUS Progressive Edition has officially arrived, and it is shaking up the market with a perfect blend of affordability and premium features. Priced from just 79,800 yuan, the lineup includes the Qin PLUS DM-i 128 km Progressive Edition and the Qin PLUS EV Progressive Edition, which ranges between 89,800 and 99,800 yuan. What makes this release stand out is that even the entry-level models come with advanced equipment such as onboard ETC, NFC key access, voice command functionality, and a VTOL mobile power station. There is also a new exterior color that adds to its fresh identity.

The exterior design maintains BYD’s recognizable style, highlighted by a large hexagonal dragon-scale grille on the DM model and arrow-shaped daytime running lights connected by smoked chrome trim. The EV model takes on a sleeker, closed front grille that emphasizes its fully electric nature. Along the side, a sloping roofline paired with 16-inch smoked five-spoke wheels gives the car a sporty coupe-like profile. At the rear, distinctive taillights feature traditional Chinese knot elements, adding cultural character to the modern design.

Inside, the cabin continues its clean and practical approach but introduces a key update. The manual gear lever has been replaced, opening up more usable space in the center console, perfect for everyday convenience. A 10.1-inch central display is paired with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, blending practicality with a high-tech feel. Leather seating, a layered honeycomb-trim console, and clever ergonomics make the cabin inviting and comfortable.

Performance is where the Qin PLUS really shines. The DM-i version pairs a 1.5-liter engine with a 120 kW motor, producing a combined 264 horsepower. Its efficiency is remarkable, with fuel consumption as low as 2.69 liters per 100 kilometers. With a 15.8 kWh battery, the DM-i achieves 128 km of pure electric range, while a full tank and charge provide up to 2028 km of total range. Fast charging is also available, with 30% to 80% taking only 30 minutes.

The EV version provides two range options, either 410 km or 510 km, with a 100 kW motor delivering 136 horsepower. This makes it a reliable daily commuter with enough endurance to cover a two-week schedule on a single charge.

The new BYD Qin PLUS Progressive Edition is a smart balance of style, practicality, and forward-looking technology. It shows that buyers no longer need to compromise between price and advanced features.
