Alpine A390 Final Testing Spotted: What You Need to Know Before Launch!
Alpine is getting ready to officially reveal its brand-new electric crossover, the A390, with final testing underway at Michelin’s Ladoux Technology Center wet track. The company is fine-tuning every detail, from the tire performance to the vehicle’s dynamic handling. For the A390, Alpine collaborated with Michelin to develop special tires, offering 20 inch Pilot Sport EV or 21 inch Pilot Sport 4S options. Along with fine-tuning the tires, engineers are finalizing the crossover’s active torque vectoring and its powerful three motor setup. Drivers will have access to five distinct drive modes, including an exciting new Track Mode designed for more spirited adventures.
Alpine is also adding a bit of personality to the A390 with its sound system. Instead of the traditional electric vehicle silence, the A390 will feature two unique sound profiles. One sound is inspired by the Alpine A110’s engine note, giving drivers a nostalgic but modern experience, while the second option, designed for daily driving, features a lighter, less bass-heavy tone. Drivers will be able to control the sound levels or turn them off completely.
Size-wise, the A390 is comparable to a Ford Escape, measuring 181.69 inches in length, 60.31 inches in height, and 74.21 inches in width. It will ride on the Renault AmpR Medium platform, similar to the Nissan Ariya, but with an expected boost in performance. With three motors under the hood, experts are speculating that it could deliver more than 600 horsepower. Alpine will reveal everything officially on May 27 in France.
