All New Renault Trafic E Tech Electric: Range, Power and Tech Explained

Renault is stepping into a new chapter with the Trafic E Tech Electric, and it feels like a real turning point for everyday working vans. This new model is the brand’s first light commercial vehicle built on Ampere’s flexible software defined vehicle platform and it also introduces eight hundred volt technology to a Renault model for the first time. That combination is designed to deliver powerful performance, very fast charging and smart digital features that keep improving over time.

Under the floor sits an electric motor with a strong output of one hundred fifty kilowatts and three hundred forty five newton metres of torque, paired with a choice of two battery packs. One promises up to four hundred fifty kilometres of official driving range, while the more affordable pack is expected to deliver around three hundred fifty kilometres. Renault is targeting a towing capacity of two tonnes and a payload of up to one point two five tonnes, so this is clearly not a light duty showpiece.

In practical terms, the L1 version offers five point one cubic metres of cargo space and the longer L2 stretches that to five point eight cubic metres, while keeping the height to one point nine metres so it can still slip into most underground car parks. Thanks to its electric skateboard platform and rear mounted motor, the turning circle is comparable to a small city car, which should make tight urban deliveries far less stressful.
